Webinar Description
This webinar features an equity allocation case study centered on the purchase of a majority stake in a private company. The session will explore common challenges in equity allocation modeling and discuss their relevance across various contexts, such as valuing equity-based compensation for private firms or assessing rollover securities issued in an acquisition. Key topics include analyzing the implied yield of liquidation preferences, assessing volatility, and evaluating time-to-exit assumptions. The case study will also demonstrate methods for reconciling differing valuation indications.

Amir Alerasoul is a Managing Director at VRC’s Complex Instruments Group. Mr. Alerasoul has more than 20 years of valuation experience, and specializes in the valuation of stock compensation, options, derivatives and complex securities. Prior to joining VRC, Mr. Alerasoul held the position of valuation manager at Deloitte Transactions and Business Analytics where he valued complex debt and equity positions. He also held positions at Morgan Stanley and Deutsche Bank where he valued different equity products including exotic equity derivatives. He earned an MBA with concentrations in finance and quantitative analysis from Carnegie Mellon University, and a master’s in financial engineering (MFE) degree from Baruch University.

Pablo Alfaro is a Senior Vice President at VRC’s Complex Instruments Group. Mr. Alfaro specializes in the valuation of stock compensation, options, derivatives and complex securities. Mr. Alfaro has over 15 years of valuation experience. Prior to joining VRC, Mr. Alfaro held the position of senior manager at BDO USA, LLP . He also held positions at Deloitte Transactions and Business Analytics. He earned his MBA from New York University - Stern, an MSc in Economics from the London School of Economics and a J.D. from Columbia Law School.
