Cyber Threats Continue to Evolve

Welcome to ASA’s Member Cybersecurity Training, designed to help you recognize and apply practical steps to recognize threats, protect information, and respond with confidence. ASA is pleased to offer this complimentary, self-paced training for ASA members. 

Cybersecurity threats continue to evolve; regular reminders of these core concepts can help all of us recognize suspicious activity and react appropriately. Even if you have completed cybersecurity training before, this program is a valuable refresher. 

The program consists of brief modules and takes approximately a total of 25-30 minutes to complete. The training covers important topics, including:

• Cybersecurity Awareness: Core Security Principles (approx. 7-8 min)
• Anti-Phishing Essentials (approx. 7-8 min)
• Staying Safe When Texting and Talking (approx. 7-8 min)
• Social Engineering: Foundations (approx. 7-8 min)

To begin, select the Training Modules tab and complete each of the modules at your own pace. Once all modules are complete, you will be able to download a certificate of completion.

Completion of this training earns 1.8 hours of ASA Participation Activity (PA) credit. This training is not eligible for ASA continuing education (CE) credit. 

Learning Outcomes

Upon completion of this training, participants will be able to:

• Identify everyday practices that help protect their accounts, devices, and sensitive professional information.
• Recognize common phishing indicators and select a safe response to a suspicious email or link.
• Identify warning signs of text-message and phone-based scams and verify unexpected requests through an independent, trusted channel.
• Recognize common social-engineering tactics and apply the Pause–Verify–Protect approach before sharing information, approving a request, or taking urgent action.
